Description
:Learning City York - City of York Lifelong Learning Partnership (CYLLP) - was first established, as a voluntary partnership in 1998 to create and develop a culture of lifelong learning for York and to maximise the contribution of learning to personal fulfilment, social cohesion, local regeneration and economic growth for the city.
In 2004, Learning City York took on a new role to lead on the Learning City theme of York's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) Community Plan 'Without Walls' (2004-2024). The mission of the Learning City York Partnership is two-fold:
'To ensure all those who live and work in York have the education and skills that will enable them to play an active part in society and contribute to the life of the city. And to ensure that the city is seen as both a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence for education, learning and skills with a commitment to lifelong learning and a culture of enterprise, innovation and creativity that is second to none.'
